Safeguarding at Holy Trinity Barnes
At Holy Trinity Barnes, we are committed to promoting a safer church for everyone. We believe that safeguarding is the responsibility of all and a vital expression of the Gospel.
Our church is dedicated to the care, nurture, and protection of children, young people, and adults, creating a safe environment where all can worship and grow in Christ. We expect every member of our community — including staff, volunteers, and visitors — to share this commitment.
We recognise that safer recruitment and careful people management are essential to maintaining a safe church.
To support this, we have the following policies in place:
-
Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy
-
Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy
-
Responding to Domestic Violence Policy
These policies are available below. All staff (including temporary staff), volunteers, and PCC members are made aware of these procedures, and parents and carers are encouraged to read them.
At times, we may need to share information or work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult. Wherever possible, we will discuss such concerns with parents or carers first — unless doing so would put the individual’s safety or wellbeing at risk.
